DESCRIPTION:Bring your Christmas tree to Riverside Park to be recycled into
  mulch that will nourish plantings in the Park all year long!\nThese wood 
 chips are used to nuture trees and plants on streets and gardens parkwide.
  heres the best part ' you can take a bag of Christmas tree mulch home wit
 h you! \nHERES HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED \n1. Volunteer (on January 6)\nVol
 unteers are needed to de-Christmas the trees left for recycling. We will b
 e removing ornaments\, lights\, and getting the trees ready to chip. Then\
 , well spread Christmas tree mulch around street trees along Riverside Dri
 ve. Please register on Eventbrite to volunteer and review our health and s
 afety protocol below. \n(PLEASE CLICK HERE FOR REGISTRATION) \n2. Treecycl
 e (from December 26 ' January 31)\nRecycle your Christmas tree in Riversid
 e Park. Drop your tree at any park entrance and we will bring it to our ch
 ipping site to be Treecycled. The chips from your tree will be used as mul
 ch throughout the park. You can even take home a bag of mulch to provide w
 arm winter protection for the street tree in front of your apartment. No n
 eed to register ' just come on by!\nMore than 25\,000 trees were recycled 
 last year city-wide. Help us top this number! \n**Note: Please remember to
  remove all lights and ornaments before bringing the tree to a MulchFest s
 ite. For more info on citywide tree drop-off and chipping sites\, please v

 & Safety Procedures\nThe health and safety of our staff and volunteers is 
 of our utmost concern. With COVID-19\, RSV\, and Flu season at the top of 
 everyones mind\, we have put in a number of additional practices that we r
 equire our volunteers to follow. Below\, please read carefully through all
  our health & safety procedures. \nEach individual volunteer must: \n Brin
 g your own water in your reusable water bottle \n Wear closed-toe shoes an
 d comfortable clothing that can get dirty. \n Keep all personal items with
  you at all times\, as we will not have an area for bags. \n Masks and soc
 ial distancing are recommended\, but not required. \nOn the day of the pro
 ject\, if you are sick or not feeling well\, STAY HOME! It is not worth th
 e risk to you or to others. If any volunteer refuses to follow our health 
 & safety procedures\, they will be dismissed from the project. We take eve
 ryones safety very seriously\, and greatly appreciate your compliance as w
 e work to move our park forward.
