SUMMARY:Strange Confessions: A New Play Reading
DESCRIPTION:Summer on the Hudson presents a staged reading of Strange Confe
ssions\, a new play by Laura MacLean. \n\n\n\n\nPeyton is an eccentric wri
ter\, who suffers from chronic agoraphobia. When life in NYC gets to be to
o much for her\, she withdraws into the safe haven of her apartment. As a
result of recent construction in the building\, the air vent system has cr
eated a virtual telephone effect through Peytons centrally located kitchen
vent. Consequentially\, Peyton learns about her neighbors most private se
crets and scandals. Living anonymously in a rambling pre-war apartment bui
lding\, the inhabitants struggles paint a larger picture of what everyone
ultimately wishes for. \nLaura MacLean is a singer\, writer and actress. W
ith her music\, Laura toured overseas\, opening for various acts in Hawaii
\, New Zealand\, the U.K. and here in the states. Back in New York\, she w
as cast in various musical projects and earned her Equity membership. Havi
ng begun her performance career in the music arena\, her gift for story-te
lling broadened into play-writing in the early 2000s. Laura is a member of
the Dramatists Guild. \nThis event takes place in the newly-renovated 102
nd Street Field House. Enter the Park at 103rd Street and Riverside Drive\
, then descend to the promenade level. The stairs to the Field House are a
cross the promenade at 102nd Street. Register for the event here.
