 , will host author David Felsen in conversation with historians Michele H.
  Bogart and John T. Reddick about his new book\, New York City Monuments o
 f Black Americans. The book includes accounts of several monuments that ar
 e a short walk from Arts and Letters\, including a sculpture of Arts and L
 etters member Ralph Ellison by Elizabeth Catlett. This event is part of La
  Vecindad\, Arts and Letters Neighbors Day on Audubon Terrace. No reservat
 ions are required. The event will be held in the second floor Members Room
 . \nDavid Felsen is an Emmy Award-winning producer who teaches American hi
 story to eleventh graders at Avenues: The World School in New York City. H
 e has an MA in American history from the Gilder Lehrman Institute of Ameri
 can History and a BA in history from Haverford College. Before becoming a 
 history teacher\, David produced television documentaries for HBO\, PBS an
 d History\, among others. \nMichele H. Bogart is Professor Emeritus of art
  history and visual culture at Stony Brook University. Her books include P
 ublic Sculpture and the Civic Ideal in New York City\, 1890-1930\, The Pol
 itics of Urban Beauty: New York and Its Art Commission\, and Sculpture in 
 Gotham: Art and Urban Renewal in New York. From 1999 to 2003\, she was Vic
 e President of the Art Commission of the City of New York. Bogart has serv
 ed on the board of directors for the New York Preservation Archive Project
 \, and on the PDCs Conservation Advisory Group since 2003. \nJohn T. Reddi
 ck is an architectural preservationist\, historian\, and Harlem resident. 
 Currently\, he serves as the Director of Community Engagement Projects for
  the Central Park Conservancy and serves as a board member of Green-Wood C
 emetery in Brooklyn. His knowledge of Harlems culture and architecture hav
 e served to advance several public art and open space projects in that com
 munity\, which include the Ralph Ellison Memorial\, Harriet Tubman Square 
 and the Frederick Douglass Memorial and Circle\, as well as New Yorks LGBT
  Memorial and Monument in Hudson River Park. Reddick is currently working 
 toward public commemoration of Seneca Village.

  Fally Ipupa\, Soukous Stars and Zaiko Langa Langa. In 2019 he founded Lob
 oko alongside drummer\, DJ and journalist Morgan Greenstreet and supported
  by multi-instrumentalist and producer Nikhil Yerawadekar\, with frequent 
 special guest Ngouma Lokito\, veteran bassist and studio musician on hundr
 eds of Congolese records and long-time member of Soukous Stars. Lobokos un
 ique style draws on classic Congolese soukous\, rumba\, and contemporary s
 eben delivered in a punchy small band format. In 2023\, Loboko released a

 r\, Grammy nominee\, film producer\, musician\, but his latest headwear ta
 kes us down a nostalgic road of classic rock and soul recordings from the 
 mid to late 1960s. Baratta returned to his original love\, music\, after a
  very successful 35-year career in the film business. With over 50 years o
 f experience as a jazz drummer he enjoys the free flowing innovative sensi
 bility that he applies to his work in the film industry. As 30 year member
  of the Directors Guild of America\, as well as the Producers Guild of Ame
 rica\, Baratta has worked on many Academy Award nominated films\, includin
 g Donnie Brasco\, The Wolf Of Wall Street\, The Irishman\, Joker\, and oth
 ers \nSince 2020 Baratta has recorded five projects\, most notably the alb
 um Music in Film featuring Grammy nominated track Chopsticks\, with his cu
 rrent working band of Vincent Herring\, Bill OConnell\, Paul Bollenback\, 
 Michael Goetz and Paul Rossman. Music In Film The Sequel\, is a similar fo
 llow up\, building and exploring more film compositions. Off The Charts\, 
 the fourth project was a critically acclaimed\, audience favorite\, lookin
 g back at some of the classic B- sides of Jazz from the 1970s\, with music
 ians John Patitucci\, Jerry Bergonzi\, David Kikoski\, and Paul Rossman. A
 ll three of these recording spent many weeks on Jazz Week\, the definitive
  guide to national airplay. \nFor this performance\, his band members\, Bi
 ll OConnell on piano\, Craig Handy on saxophone\, Michael Goetz on Bass\, 
 Paul Rossman on percussion\, Paul Bollenback on guitar\, and Carroll Scott
  on vocals. \n  \nWaterfront sunset concerts sponsored by the Riverside Te
