SUMMARY:Annual Leaf Lift
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a fun day of giving back to our community by helpin
g rake leaves in Riverside Park! This event is a great way to enjoy the ou
tdoors\, meet new people\, and make a difference in the park. No experienc
e is necessary'just bring your energy and enthusiasm. \n\n\nWhile we typic
ally follow the Leave the Leaves practice to protect habitat for our insec
t friends in our natural areas\, our Leaf Lift events focus on removing le
aves from high-traffic pathways to provide a safer and cleaner experience
for park visitors. \nAnd the best part? The leaves collected during these
projects wont go to waste! Theyll be composted right here in-house\, eithe
r supporting our work at the compost compound or returning nutrients to ou
r woodland and restoration areas. \nCome lend a hand\, enjoy some time out
doors\, and help us care for Riverside Park! \n\nRegistration will open 4
weeks before the event. Stay tuned! \nWhat to wear/bring: \n\nFilled water
  bottle\nSturdy\, closed-toe shoes\nComfortable\, seasonally-appropriate l
ayers\nLong pants & socks that cover your ankles\nSunscreen\nOptional: Hat
\n\nWe will provide gloves and all tools/materials needed for the project.
Please keep personal belongings with you at all times\, as we do not have
a secure storage area. \nFor the safety of our staff and volunteers\, if
you are feeling sick or unwell on the day of the project\, please stay hom
 e. It is not worth the risk to you or to others. \nFor any questions\, ple
 ase email volunteerevents@riversideparknyc.org.
