 cy staff to recycle your Christmas trees into wood chips. \nThese wood chi
 ps are used to nourish trees and plants on streets and gardens citywide. A
 nd heres the best part ' you can take a bag of Christmas tree mulch home w
 ith you! \n  \nHERES HOW YOU CAN GET INVOLVED \n  \n1. Volunteer (on Janua
 ry 7) \nVolunteers are needed to de-Christmas the trees left for recycling
 . We will be removing ornaments\, lights\, and getting the trees ready to 
 chip. Then\, well spread Christmas tree mulch around street trees along Ri
 verside Drive. \nPlease register on Eventbrite to volunteer and review our
  health and safety protocol below. \n2. Treecycle (from December 26 ' Janu
 ary 31) \nRecycle your Christmas tree in Riverside Park. Drop your tree at
  any park entrance and we will bring it to our chipping site to be Treecyc
 led. The chips from your tree will be used as mulch throughout the park. Y
 ou can even take home a bag of mulch to provide warm winter protection for
  the street tree in front of your apartment. No need to register ' just co
 me on by! \nMore than 25\,000 trees were recycled last year city-wide. Hel

 r have before. The program includes a short\, no more than a half-mile wal
 k at a slow pace. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing
  and bring water\, snacks\, and a towel or cushion for sitting on the grou
 nd. Participants will meet in front of River Run Playground at 83rd St. at
  3:20 PM. The guide will be wearing a purple and white backpack and will b
 e stationed outside the River Run Playground. The walk will begin promptly
  at 3:30pm. Know Before You Go For everyones safety\, we are asking all pa
 rticipants to observe the following guidelines: \n\nAll individuals should
  maintain social distancing of six feet during programming\, regardless of
  vaccination status\nWash your hands before attending a program\nStay home
  if you are sick\n\nAdditionally\, we encourage participants to bring thei

 has remote sensing and geography projects in the US and abroad\, and a new

  bring them for signing). \nHeaven on the Hudson: Mansions\, Monuments\, a
 nd Marvels of Riverside Park\, is a colorful tale of a singular New York C
 ity neighborhood and the people who make it special. Told in the personal 
 voice of a long-time resident\, the book features the history\, architectu
 re\, and personalities of this often overlooked neighborhood\, from early 
 days through the present. A native New Yorker who has lived across from Ri
 verside Park most of her life\, author Stephanie Azzarone has spent many j
 oyous hours learning about the citys history and architecture\, and even m
 ore wandering up and down Riverside Park and Riverside Drive. A former jou
 rnalist (freelancer for The New York Times and New York magazine\, among o
 thers)\, she also ran an award-winning Manhattan public relations agency.

 hone has been heard at such venues as Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Newpo
