Patch: Coronavirus Impact, Budget Cuts Put Riverside Park At Risk: Study
In the spring of 2020, the Parks and Open Space Partners group formed to collaborate on advocacy and share insights on the pandemic’s impact on fundraising, volunteer work, and public programming. 24 parks and open space nonprofits conducted a study and released a report that explained the anticipated impacts of the proposed budget cuts to the NYC Parks Department for FY2021.
“Parks are more important than ever, and we need to make sure that the groups that support them are able to survive this crisis,” Riverside Park Conservancy President Dan Garodnick said in the report.
