Riverside Park Conservancy
2019 Teen Corps Application

Riverside Park Conservancy provides an experiential learning program for teenage volunteers interested in basic horticultural and environmental restoration. Volunteers will work closely with our zone gardeners to care for NYC’s essential open space by maintaining key horticultural sites, managing woodland areas and keeping the park safe, clean, and healthy.

Your information

All Teen Corps members are required to complete 50 community service hours from Tuesday and Thursday workdays through July and August and are allowed to miss no more than three sessions, which can be made up.

  • If you are under the age of 18, the signature of a parent or legal guardian is required on the acknowledgement below.
  • Volunteers under the age of 14 need to be accompanied by an older sibling, parent, or legal guardian while volunteering.

Waiver: Please read this form carefully and be aware that by participating in this event you and your minor child will be waiving and releasing all claims for any injuries you or your child might sustain arising out of your participation. By signing below, I recognize, acknowledge and agree, on behalf of myself and my heirs and assigns, to the following:

I attest that my child and/or I is/are physically fit and prepared for this event, and I recognize and acknowledge that there is a certain risk of injury. I agree to assume the full risk of any such injury, damages or loss, which I or my child may sustain as a result of his or her participation in any and all activities connected with or associated with this event, and in consideration of his or her acceptance as a participant in this event, I hereby agree to fully release, discharge, defend, indemnify and hold harmless Riverside Park Conservancy, Inc. ("RPC") and its affiliates and sponsors, including its and their officials, officers, directors, employees, representatives, agents and other volunteers, from any and all claims for expenses, injury, losses or damages that may be incurred or caused during or in connection with my child’s participation in this event, whether arising from the negligence of such persons or otherwise. I understand that, when my child is participating in this event, he or she will not be under the supervision or control of RPC, but instead under the supervision and control of a RPC Project Partner, for whom RPC assumes no liability.

I grant full permission for RPC, including its assigns and agents, to use photos, portraits, films and videos of my child, as well as quotations made by my child, for the purpose of promotion or public information (which includes but is not limited to legitimate accounts and promotions of this event and RPC) without obtaining further consent or without prior knowledge of such use. Additionally, I understand that neither I nor my child is to receive any compensation of any kind as a result of RPC’s use thereof. RPC may contact me and my child about ways to support the organization via emails, to which we can unsubscribe at any time.

I have read and understood the above, and I have the full right and legal capacity to sign this waiver.
