Contributing to a greener and cleaner Riverside Park is a great way for corporate groups, private clubs and schools to strengthen their ties to one another while giving back to the community. Riverside Park Conservancy has hosted volunteer groups since its inception in 1986, and we would be delighted to welcome your group to the park.
Projects and times are tailored to meet your group’s interests, and activities will depend on the time of year and current park needs. Your group can choose to work in the park on an ongoing basis, several times a year, or just once per year.
Non-Profit and School Groups: $100-$500
Small non-profit and educational groups can volunteer in a number of ways. They can help pull weeds, spread wood chips, prune shrubs, clean up the coast line, paint wrought iron fences, and more inside Riverside Park.
Steward Projects: $2,500 (Groups up to 35 volunteers)
These important park projects often involve the ongoing care of the park landscape. They include fence painting, raking, coastal or general cleanup, refreshing sandboxes, and invasive plant species removal. These activities are critical to the continued preservation of Riverside Park.
Restoration Projects: $5,000 (Groups up to 70 volunteers)
Restoration Projects improve the beauty and health of the park. Adopt and support a particular restoration effort inside the park. Typical activities include seasonal planting or clearing projects, preparing plant beds, and lawn restoration.
Impact Projects: $7,500 (Groups up to 100 volunteers)
Impact Projects support our long-term efforts in largely unfunded areas of the park. These projects often include large-scale removal of invasive plants, planting bulbs and perennials, and implementing erosion control measures.
Volunteer Program Partners: $10,000 and up (>100 volunteers throughout the year)
Program Partners work in Riverside Park multiple times a year and want the opportunity to formalize our relationship. We work together to develop a custom slate of volunteer opportunities within an annual budget. These partnerships help us to break new ground and tackle meaningful projects that may otherwise be out of reach.
We can easily accommodate groups ranging in size from 10-50 people. If you would like to bring a larger group, we will work with you to create a service day that meets your needs and ours!
Typical service days last from 2-5 hours. We find the ideal time is from 10:00am – 1:00pm.
