Field House

*Please note: the Field House is currently not available for rental. When this changes, we will update this page with the latest information.

The Field House was first completed in 1937, renovated in 1964, and gutted by fire in the 1970s. It sat empty for more than forty years, but its restoration, a joint effort between the Conservancy and New York City Parks, was completed in 2020.

Now a premier, year-round facility, the Field House includes ADA accessible bathrooms, a 1,600 square foot, all-season indoor activity space, and a program office.

New basketball courts were also opened in front of the Field House in 2020.

The restored Field House has significantly expanded the Conservancy’s active recreation, programming, and community development capacity. We plan to offer a variety of free cultural, educational, and health and fitness programs that will make the Field House a buzzing center of activity for the community.

The Field House will host or anchor these recreational activities, including our Summer Sports Camp. And critical to the community, the heavily used adjacent athletic fields finally have access to much-needed public bathrooms.
