Riverside Park Pup Halloween Parade

Calling all Riverside Park Pups! Grab your humans and get ready to wag your tail in Riverside Park Conservancy’s inaugural Halloween Pup Parade! Join us on Saturday, October 26 from 12:00-3:00 PM.

Pups are encouraged to don their most creative costumes as we parade through the park, spreading Halloween cheer and cuteness overload! Whether you come dressed as a tiny pumpkin or a fierce superhero, all breeds, sizes, and spooky styles are welcome.

The parade will start on the promenade by 116th Street and will end at Ellington in the Park, where we will convene for our Costume Contest, music, special giveaways and lots of Halloween merriment.

TENTATIVE SCHEDULE:

12:00 pm – Parade assembly & check-in at 116th St

12:30 – Procession Step-off

1:30 – Costume Contest at Ellington in the Park

2:00 – Halloween Party time

All Riverside Park neighbors and friends are welcome to participate and walk in the parade. Pre-register for free by following the link here! Group theme entries and wagons are highly encouraged.

June 28 – Granite Garden / charismatic NYC rock band

Granite Garden is a charismatic force from NYC that delivers hard hitting songs spiked with a strong dose of theatricality. They fill their shows with a wide range of emotions and complete commitment. Their goal is to revel in the joy and power of live performances with friends, families, and strangers alike.

May 31 – Laura Lizcano / lyrically-driven jazz, folk, and pop

Laura Lizcano is a Colombian-born singer-songwriter based in New York. Influenced by artists like Norah Jones, Natalia Lafourcade and Caroline Shaw, Lizcano combines her formal training as a jazz vocalist
with her love of folk, pop and contemporary classical music. This combination of styles is evident within her own lyrically-driven compositions.

July 26 – OSG / unique R&B and soul

Diya Drake & Naomi Jay, a stylistically unique R&B Duo who has been singing, performing, and playing in sync from small open mics to large performance settings. Throughout the course of the Duo’s union, they have been granted the opportunity of performing at a variety of venues, making loads of public appearances, all the while recording new music. August 30 – Nathan Farrell / jazz saxophone and eclectic songwriting

Nathan Farrell Detrés is a vocalist, saxophonist, songwriter, and arranger from the New York City Metropolitan area. His artistry and musicianship have been rapidly growing, alongside his career as a band leader, supporting horn player, and backing vocalist. His live sets establish continuity between Swing and The Great American Songbook, neo-soul, pop hits, and original music that synthesizes the aforementioned styles with contemporary songwriting.

May 26:  Austin Zhang
Austin Zhang is a jazz saxophonist, electronic musician, and composer based in New York City. Zhang graduated from the Manhattan School of Music on scholarship and went on to perform with giants of jazz music: Terri Lyne Carrington, Wycliffe Gordon, the Mingus Big Band, and others. Zhang’s saxophone has been heard at such venues as Jazz at Lincoln Center and the Newport Jazz Festival. Austin uses his music as a communication medium to further social and environmental causes.

June 30: Troy Weekes

Hailing from Harlem, Troy Weekes is a singer/songwriter, actor, dancer, and MC, and performing since the age of 14. When not working on his own project, he can be seen performing with his band Ji- Groove and hosting events all across America. He is currently working on his first EP project, Not yet titled, under the new genre and style he created called *Soul & B. Blending gospel, neo-soul, and R&B, Troy Weekes has a story to tell and he pulls you right in with him each and every time he performs.

July 28: Keisha Martin
Keisha Martin is not known to shy away from unbridled self-expression, using her musical talents to create a soulful and passionate composition for her audiences. Establishing her own spirited, passionate and thoroughly heartfelt presence, the dedicated singer-songwriter’s music allows listeners to live free and vicariously. Her new single, “I Can’t Forget  You” represents a flavorful twist in the artist’s discography, featuring bold and spirited reggae.

LaFolie Austral unites the vast sonic landscape of South America, then processes it through a contemporary alternative lens. The result is an infectious rhythmic unit that is formed by her unique musical approach. Born in Barranquilla – Colombia, LaFolie Austral enjoys writing music, traveling the world and experimenting with different sounds.
