Friday Night Jams featuring Ilana Morris

Get out to the park and kick off the weekend with some local sounds at this monthly musical get-happy hour. Friday Night Jams takes place on the last Friday of the month from May through August.

• June 26 – Ramio Marziani  / improvisational jazz and groove
• July 25 – Christina Chanel / powerful vocals and indie – soul
• Aug 28 – Ilana Morris / classic R&B with a modern edge

Ilana Morris is an R&B/Soul vocalist based in NYC. Born and raised in Western Massachusetts, many people would describe her as, “singing before she could talk.” Having gone to a performing arts high school and later pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Jazz Voice, Ilana is very passionate about singing. Getting her start singing backgrounds for various Western Mass bands, Ilana eventually went on to become lead vocalist of Wurliday, a pop group based in Albany, NY. In 2021 Wurliday released, Circle Back to You, a song Ilana co-wrote with her bandmates. Ilana has opened up for iconic groups such as En Vogue and Third World. She has shared the stage with members of Snarky Puppy, Lettuce, the Trey Anastasio band and more! In May 2022, Ilana released her second single as a solo artist titled Fire or Ice.

Summer on the Hudson events are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, unreserved, and available on a first-come, first-served basis. If there is heavy rain at the time of the event, the event will be canceled. For weather updates, check nyc.gov/parks/soh 2 hours before the event.
