CANCELED: The Little Red Lighthouse Festival

October 7, 2023 @ 12:00 pm - 4:00 pm

DUE TO INCLEMENT WEATHER FORECASTED FOR SATURDAY, 10/7, WE HAVE ELECTED TO CANCEL THIS YEAR’S FESTIVAL. Check back for additional tour dates with the Urban Park Rangers.

Celebrate Manhattan’s only remaining lighthouse with readings of the eponymous children’s book, live music, City Parks Foundation Puppetmobile performance, and activities for all ages!

As the Little Red Lighthouse is more than 140 years old and in need of care, it has been determined that the Lighthouse will again be only be open for a limited number of tours during this year’s Festival, led by the NYC Park Rangers! As in years past, tours will be first come, first served. To safely and comfortably accommodate visitors, we have reduced the total number of visitors we can accommodate.

To accomplish this year’s Little Red Lighthouse touring in a fair and efficient manner, timed tickets will be distributed beginning at noon on Saturday, October 7.

  • We highly recommend that visitors looking to tour the lighthouse earlier in the day arrive before noon.
  • Tickets will be timed for a 40-minute window.
  • Ticketholders are asked to arrive on time for their scheduled tour.

This year, we will be offering additional tours of the Little Red Lighthouse outside of the Festival, so attendees who are not able to visit the Lighthouse during the Festival will have additional opportunities once the Festival has concluded.

Tour times are as follows:

  • Group 1 12:20 – 1:00
  • Group 2 12:50 – 1:30
  • Group 3 1:20 – 2:00
  • Group 4 1:50 – 2:30
  • Group 5 2:20 – 3:00
  • Group 6 2:50 – 3:30
  • Group 7 3:20 – 4:00
  • Group 8 3:50 – 4:30

The Little Red Lighthouse is beloved by New Yorkers and visitors alike. Join us in our quest to ensure that the Little Red Lighthouse can safely receive visitors for years to come. Together we can keep the light shining!
