Forest Bathing

We invite you to join us in reconnecting with nature by participating in a guided Forest Bathing experience. Allow yourself to connect with the park in a way you never have before. The program includes a short, no more than a half-mile walk at a slow pace. Wear comfortable clothing and bring water, snacks, and a towel or cushion for sitting on the ground.

Summer on the Hudson events are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, unreserved, and available on a first-come, first-served basis. If there is heavy rain at the time of the event, the event will be canceled. For weather updates, check nyc.gov/parks/soh 2 hours before the event. The event starts at 6:30 – 8:00 pm. Meet up in front of Hippo Playground.

Forest Therapy or Forest Bathing comes from the traditions of Shinrin Yoku and other European and indigenous cultures. Participants are encouraged to wear comfortable clothing and bring water, snacks, and a towel or cushion for sitting on the ground.

Participants will meet in front of River Run Playground at 83rd St. at 5:20 PM. The guide will be wearing a purple and white backpack and will be stationed outside the River Run Playground. The walk will begin promptly at 5:30 pm.

Know Before You Go

For everyone’s safety, we are asking all participants to observe the following guidelines:

  • Stay home if you are sick
  • We encourage participants to bring their own hand sanitizer
  • Water bottles to our programs.
