We are so appreciative of your past support, which provided much-needed funding for the Conservancy to fulfill its mission. As the Park continues to suffer from extreme weather conditions and significant City budget cuts, your continued support is needed now more than ever to maintain this beloved treasure.
Despite the challenges, we made great strides forward on several fronts. Our new Compost Compound is the first of its kind in a New York City park and has been processing our yard debris on-site and turning it into nutrient-rich compost to feed back into our landscapes. We’re also working to build a healthier environment for bees and other pollinators by establishing more meadows throughout the Park, and we’re beginning to address our serious drainage issues by constructing bioswales, erosion mats and other green infrastructure improvements.
