Make Music New York

Performers from Lincoln Center, Symphony Space, and the Special Music School celebrate Make Music Day with live music on the Pier. Presented in partnership with the office of Councilmember Gale Brewer.
The Make Music NY Festival hosts hundreds of concerts citywide—part of the worldwide Make Music Day—this year’s lineup features:
2pm: The KuKu Collective with Hasan Bakr and Chioneso Bakr Presented by Symphony Space
2:40pm: Kaufman Music Center
3:20pm: Ava and the Hitmen presented by Lincoln Center & Hire Juilliard Performers

KuKu Collective with Hasan Bakr and Chioneso Bakr Presented by Symphony Space
The Kuku Collective is led by Hasan Bakr, a djembe drummer/percussionist and Chionesco Bakr, a singer/dancer/percussionist. Together they artfully lead audiences to experience culture seated in the wisdom of Africa while sharing an engaging, multigenerational presentation.
Ava and the Hitmen presented by Lincoln Center & Hire Juilliard Performers
Ava is a jazz vocalist and indie singer-songwriter who enjoys performing jazz, blues, pop/rock and her original songs as a solo artist and as a featured guest with various combos and bands throughout Cleveland and New York. Summer on the Hudson events are free and open to the public. Seating is limited, unreserved, and available on a first-come, first-served basis. If there is heavy rain at the time of the event, the event will be canceled. For weather updates, check nyc.gov/parks/soh 2 hours before the event.
