Kinesis Project offers a second day of events in Fort Washington Park, a gorgeous space that includes the George Washington Bridge and The Little Red Lighthouse. A dance of echoes, listening, how we bridge the cracks between us and the company’s extraordinary ability to bring new life into an environment. This new work, placed in a historic NYC location, is a moment to be shared with our friends old and new, leading audiences along pathways, waterways and bridge views with gorgeous dancing and the live music of Grammy and Obie Award winning musician, Johnny Butler.
3pm: Installation of Care
5pm: Performance of Bridge Matter/The Reach
Bridge Matter/The Reach is a second collaboration with the research of geoscientist Dr. Missy Eppes and her colleagues, studying how our shifting climate is affecting even the bedrock of our earth.

Devrai (Sacred Grove) calls attention to our local ecosystems and landscapes. The Indian word “Devrai” is a compound of Dev meaning ‘God’ and ‘Rai’ meaning forest. A prehistoric tradition of nature conservation, sacred groves have long been revered as sacrosanct and imbued with the belief that no creature may be harmed within its boundaries.
This performance of Devrai (Sacred Grove) is a section of Richard Move’s Herstory of the Universe series commissioned by the Trust for Governors Island as part of Herstory of the Universe, named “Best Dance of 2021” by The New York Times.
Devrai (Sacred Grove) will be performed by Aristotle Luna (Complexions Contemporary Ballet, Richard Move / MoveOpolis!) at 6:00pm and again at 6:30pm.
